Join us with local historian Elliott Fernandez on May 26, 2023 for a preservation walking tour. Participants will be able to see the "before" and "after" of major rehabilitation projects while learning a bit about the history of each property. This year, we will be highlighting some of the recipients of Historic Macon’s Preservation Awards. These buildings have all been rehabilitated to NPS standards, and some were truly brought back from the brink of destruction. Many people only get to see these projects after they have been completed, but never get to see what the “before” was like. With this tour, we hope to shed light on the serious amount of work and care for community and preservation that goes into the rehabilitation of a historic building.

Our tour will begin on the rooftop of Quill/The Woodward Hotel. One cocktail at Quill is included in the cost of your ticket (mocktail options available upon request). Participants should wear comfortable shoes as this will be a walking tour. Tour is limited to 15 people. This tour will last roughly 90 minutes.
