Being the owner of a historic house is an exciting prospect. But historic homes present their own unique challenges and benefits. As active proponents of historic homes, Historic Macon understands that maintain a historic building can seem like a daunting task. That's why the staff applied for a grant from the Watson-Brown Foundation Junior Board to create an approachable and succinct handbook with information about maintenance, historic tax credits, and resources for owning a historic home.
The Homeowner's Handbook to Historic Houses was published in May 2015 in conjunction with National Preservation Month.
