Historic Macon's education committee meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage (935 High St). The committee is responsible for the following:

• Curates and manages the Sidney Lanier Cottage, collections and gardens

• Plans and executes Sidney’s Salons and other events highlighting preservation efforts and the history of Macon

• Raises funds to support the upkeep of the Cottage

• Raises funds for the maintenance, restoration, and improvement of Historic Rose Hill Cemetery

• Researches, interprets, and shares the history of the Cemetery

• Maintains, updates and implements the master plan for Rose Hill Cemetery

• Conducts Rose Hill Rambles, clean-up days and other events
